This
is a tough one. Manoomin (native wild rice) is our non-genetically
altered, non-paddy grown and pesticide-free, or not mechanically
processed rice is arquably the most nutritious and best tasting in the
world given the quality of our greatest local asset, Lake Superior and
surrounding lakes and streams. Now earth’s last bastion of fresh water
is threatened and it raises questions on many levels. There’s a lot of
history and cultural testimony to support the protection of Manoomin.
It is a cornerstone of current ecological and agricultural battles
being waged. Please chime in.
